When no other living arrangement is able to meet the needs of a child or youth, Strive can develop one.
In this highly specialized arrangement, a home is carefully selected and developed around a child or youth to meet their specific health, physical, mental, emotional, and/or behavioural needs.
Specialized housing typically includes 24/7 staffing or one live-in care provider with additional staff support during the day. Both options offer skilled and qualified caregivers that provide around the clock support and supervision.
Strive subscribes to a harm reduction approach and a trauma informed lens. Employees at some of our specialized residences are trained in ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences).
Referrals from MCFD are required to become part of Strive’s Children and Youth Services Program.
