Strive had the great opportunity to participate at the UBC career fair. This was the first in-person career fair Strive was able to attend since the start of the pandemic. It was an amazing experience to spread the vision and mission of Strive to the students and vendors who were there. We were able to connect with over 100 individuals and meet many individuals who had the same values as Strive. In a similar manner to last year’s acknowledgement, Strive will be recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2022 as a statutory holiday for Strive Employees.Both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day take place on September 30. Orange Shirt Day is named for the day’s founder, Phyllis Webstad’s experiences in the Residential “School” system.  The day has been used to honour the children who suffered as attendees at Residential “Schools”, and the intergenerational trauma and grief that resulted from those experiences.We would like to encourage all personnel to wear Orange on…

Strive Center Vancouver Location Move

We have officially moved our Strive Center Vancouver location to 3438 Lougheed Hwy., Vancouver, BC V5M 2A4. We created decals on the left side of the window panels that best represent our purpose for Strive Centre. These are 'Community', 'Recreation', 'Resources', and 'Support'. We have built a community to support those with challenging needs and nurture a safe environment for them to come to. Congratulations for the opening of our new and redesigned Strive Center!

Strive is aware of the risk of COVID-19 and is taking heightened precautions to prevent the spread of this virus, while protecting our employees, service recipients, and the community. An AIL Home Share Provider Wins $1,000 for Referrals
Our Assisted Independent Living (AIL) Department very much appreciates the contractors who have taken the time to refer their friends, family, colleagues, and neighbours to our program.   Home share providers receive a $25 bonus when they refer someone to the AIL program and they successfully apply. If the referee completes their application and a client is successfully placed in the home, a $300 bonus. For every contractor who refers someone that completes their application and successfully has a client placed in their home, we enter their name into a draw for a chance to win $1,000.
